Former Admirals go viral on the internet for, well…you’ll have to watch for yourself…

I got an e-mail today from the Milwaukee Admirals letting me know that, from now on, I can vote on the winners of fights that break out on the ice from the comforts of my mobile phone. According to the press release, “fans in the Bradley Center can light up their mobile phones and vote on which of the combatants won the scrap.”

First thing that popped in my mind was one of those snoozefest fights where two players tug at each others jersey and dance around for 30 seconds. You know, the kind of fight that starts off as a complete yard sale, only to end with the players being separated to the tune of Barney’s “I love you, you love me” song. Pathetic. No one is getting a vote there, that’s for sure.

On the other hand, this could happen:

Friend of the site Chris Wilcox posted that little dandy on my facebook page last week (click here to check out the original article on Why? Because a) It’s awesome, b) Former Milwaukee Admiral Ian McKenzie is the guy who completely laid out opposing player which caused the 18-major brawl in the first place, and c) It’s awesome.

It’s not often you get to witness goalie-on-goalie scuffles, and it is even a more rare instance to see a player whack his coach upside the face with his stick.

Enter former Admiral Alexander Radulov:

I found this little gem today while surfing the interwebs for good hockey gossip for my Monday morning column. Alex, you never let me down when it comes to disgruntled hockey news. According to Alex Friedman over at Diehard Sport, Radulov is unhappy with his current KHL team Salavat Yulaev Ufa (really? What made you think that?). The guy in the video is goaltending coach Ilari Nackel, so I can’t imagine what made A-Rad mad enough to where he saw it appropriate to slash the guy in the face. I mean seriously, he’s the goaltending coach. What could he have possibly done to make Radulov fly off the handle.

But then again, it is Radulov. He isn’t exactly a Human Resources departments dream employee…
